SISTEMA XUNAAN HA “The Lady of the Water”
The primary land owner is Enrique Precido. Other land owners are Don Jorge, Don Edwardo Romano, and several more. Because of the enormous size of this cave system many parts of the cave exist underneath several different land owners. The maximum distance explored and surveyed is 171,305 feet/52213 meters (as of April, 2014). The maximum depth within this cave system is 89 feet/27.1 meters. There are 31 cenotes within this cave system. They are Cenote Abismo, Cenote Boy, Cenote Chango, Cenote Chemuyil Sur, Cenote Hol Kin, Cenote Jaquar House, Cenote Murcielago’s House, Cenote Renzo, Cenote Palomita, Cenote Pitch, Cenote Powerline, Cenote Principal, Cenote Rojo, Cenote Small, Cenote Xunnan Ha plus 16 more. Cenote Xunaan Ha offers excellent snorkeling and swimming and is the location that can offer this feature. Cenote Pitch is a leased commercialized cenote for swimming and snorkeling by the Maya Adventures Company owned and operated by Maya Adventure tours. No person can use this cenote unless buying their participation tickets. This cave system has a tremendous variety of different features for cave diving for back mount and side mount configurations.
